Our Philosophy
& History
Participation in club volleyball requires a commitment of time, energy, and work on the part of its players.  The level of commitment for each age group is in the table below.

     *  Player tries out for Spokane Velocity Volleyball Club
     *  Player may receive an offer to play for the club
     *  To accept an offer, the player returns:
~  a signed Letter of Intent,
~  an Evergreen Region Membership Form, and
            ~  $100.00 non-refundable deposit.
     *  Remaining first half of the fee is due in December
     *  Remaining second half balance is due in January.

NOTE:  A player may tryout for additional clubs before making her decision, but is required to inform the coach as to her intentions.  PLEASE DO NOT TELL THE COACH THAT YOU WILL PLAY FOR SPOKANE VELOCITY WITH THE HOPES OF HOLDING A POSITION ON THE TEAM UNTIL YOU CAN PARTICIPATE IN OTHER TRYOUTS.  This is against the policies of USA Volleyball and the Evergreen Region.  If a player chooses to tryout for other clubs, she does so with the understanding that her position on the Spokane Velocity team may not be held.

Tryouts begin November of 2007.  Practice and the tournament season begins in January and ends in April or mid-May 2008.

YOUTH
We are offering a program for the youngest of the potential volleyball  players.  This program is for 12-year-old & under players, mostly 3rd - 6th grade.  This introductory program is structured to present the sport of volleyball to young girls in a fun, exciting, and learning environment.

The 12 & under program begins practice the first week in January and ends the last week in February.  Practices are twice weekly approximately 1 hour long and will be held in the Valley area.

The head coach for this team is also the head coach of the club.  Ericka Tomsha is an experienced coach and player.  She enjoys watching young girls develop and believes that teaching a young player how to play correctly while having fun is very important.
